Mandy Moore – Extra Ordinary (192 kbps)
(2007)

Extraodinary is the first single release from American pop singer Mandy Moore’s upcoming album Wild Hope. It is also the first track on the album. It sounds different from Mandy Moore’s other recordings. The track is laced with violins, drums, and powerful guitar and bass solo.
The song is the story of Moore’s career. Moore refers to herself as a daydream and how she hid her true self from the world. But now she is ready to be who she is and that is “extraordinary”. She states even though she shines (being a star) she still feels rather “undiscovered”. She also speaks of shinning in copper which could be a reference to her midocere success.

Here is the lyric:

let it go,
let it roll right off your shoulder
don’t you know
the hardest part is over
let it in,
let your clarity define you
in the end
we will only just remember how it feels

our lives are made
in these small hours
these little wonders,
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away,
but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

let it slide,
let your troubles fall behind you
let it shine
until you feel it all around you
and i don’t mind
if it’s me you need to turn to
we’ll get by,
it’s the heart that really matters in the end

our lives are made
in these small hours
these little wonders,
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away,
but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

all of my regret
will wash away some how
but i can not forget
the way i feel right now

in these small hours
these little wonders
these twists & turns of fate
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away but these small hours
these small hours, still remain,
still remain
these little wonders
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away
but these small hours
these little wonders still remain

Here is the lyric:

You know what’s funny?
Seems like every time I try to forget about you,
My feelings pull me back in.
You see, it’s crazy,
‘Cause I got somebody else,
You got somebody else.
But you and I both know,
That it really is…
But still,
You know what I’m saying, B?

Verse-1:
Ran across a picture you took of me,
and you crossed my mind
I still hear you sayin’ you love me,
when I close my eyes
If I didn’t go away to school,
Then where would we be?
Probably still together and somewhere happy.
If I’m supposed to be moved on in a new relationship strong,
Then why are you still hauntin’ me?

They say…

Chorus:
If you love something, let it go,
And if it comes back then that’s how you know.
I got to the stop light then I made four rights.
Now I’m back where I started,
And you’re back in my life.
the further that i go the closer i get back to you?
I say I moved on,
Til’ I’m reminded of you.
Can somebody help me?
To help me get out of this circle (out of this circle).

Verse-2:
I drove past your house the other day,
I didn’t even mean to,
I went the wrong way.
I ain’t seen your mama in a while.
When she looked at me, she smiled,

And asked me if I’m doing okay.
Took everything I had not to bring up your name,
And wonder if you came home for the holidays, yeah…
She asked if I could stay awhile,
Cause you had come in town
And you were just five minutes away.

Hook:
To anybody who’s listening to this,
If you got the person that makes you wonder what if,
Let me hear you say yeah (yeah),
Say yeah (yeah)…
Say yeah (yeah)…
Oh yeah (oh yeah)…
If you understand how I feel,
Then grab that person now to let her know what’s real.
Let me hear you say yeah (yeah),
Yeah (yeah)…
Yeah, hey…

So welcome to my nightmare
My heaven and my hell
This passionate contradiction
Of bitter sweet is where I dwell
You choose a day like today
To get me upset
The more I love you
More I hate you
More it scares me to death

[Chorus]
I can’t keep fighting this battle with you
I can’t hear words when scream like you do
If I cry will you hold me just like we rehearsed?
So do I
So do I say sorry first?

I’m flawed
I’m so imperfect
But I ain’t insecure
Your jealous heart is poisoned
Tell me how could I trust you more?

[Chorus]

Sometimes I think we feel too much
Too deep
This all-consuming love
Can’t breathe
So angry
So frustrated
How we got here?

Hear me
And listen to what I say
From my heart
And I swear to you that won’t change
I hope you learn to trust somebody. . .

[Chorus]

So follow my lead, and we’ll 1-2-3

Pull Shapes,
I like to Disco
I like to Rock n’ Roll
Well I like to Hip-Hop
We can do it all, just don’t let the music stop

Pull Shapes,
I lead with my left hand
I stomp with my right foot
Well I just wanna freak out
I just wanna move, I don’t care what the song’s about

Dance with me, pretty boy tonight
Dance with me, and we’ll be alright
There’s a whole floor before us, just for you and me,
So follow my lead, and we’ll 1-2-3

Pull Shapes,
Is there a drumbeat?
Pull Shapes
And is the bass beat?
Pull Shapes
Then the rhythm is complete

Well get up on the floor, its time for you to move your feet

Dance with me, pretty boy tonight
Dance with me, and we’ll be alright
There’s a whole floor before us, just for you and me,
So follow my lead, and we’ll 1-2-3

What do you do when the music stops?
What do you do when the music stops?
What do you do when the music stops?
What do you do when the music stops?

Pull Shapes
Clap your hands if you want some more,
Pull Shapes
Clap your hands if you want some more,
Pull Shapes
Clap your hands if you want some more,
Pull Shapes
Clap your hands if you want some more,

Clap your hands if you want some more,
Clap your hands if you want some more,

Dance with me, pretty boy tonight
Dance with me, and we’ll be alright
There’s a whole floor before us, just for you and me,
So follow my lead, and we’ll 1-2-3
Pull Shapes

Dance with me, pretty boy tonight
Pull Shapes
Dance with me, and we’ll be alright
Pull Shapes
There’s a whole floor before us, just for you and me,
Pull Shapes
So follow my lead, and we’ll 1-2-3
Pull Shapes

Amy Winehouse – You Know I’m No Good

“You Know I’m No Good” is the second single from Amy Winehouse’s 2006 second album Back To Black. The single was released in the UK on 8 January 2007.

Here is the lyric:

Meet you downstairs in the bar and heard
Your rolled up sleeves and your skull t-shirt
You say why did you do it with him today?
And sniff me out like I was Tanqueray

Cause you’re my fella, my guy
Hand me your stella and fly
By the time I’m out the door
You tear me down like roger moore

I cheated myself
Like I knew I would
I told ya, I was troubled
You know that I’m no good

Upstairs in bed, with my ex boy,
Hes in the place, but I cant get joy,
Thinking of you in the final throws, this is when my buzzer goes

Run out to meet your chicks and bitter
You say when we’re married cause youre not bitter
There’ll be none of him no more
I cried for you on the kitchen floor

I cheated myself
Like I knew I would
I told ya, I was troubled
You know that I’m no good

Sweet reunion, jamaica and spain
Were like how we were again
I’m in the tub youre on the seat
Lick your lips as I soak my feet

Then you notice lickle carpet burn
My stomach drops and my guts churn
You shrug and it’s the worst
To truly stuck the knife in first

I cheated myself like I knew I would
I told ya I was troubled, you know that I’m no good
I cheated myself, like I knew I would
I told ya I was troubled, yeah ya know that I’m no good

Western Single 38-2007

Taylor Hicks – Just To Feel That Way

“Just to Feel That Way” is the first single taken from Taylor Hicks’ major label debut album Taylor Hicks, released by Arista Records. It was written by Lindy Robbins, Jess Cates, and Emanuel Kiriakou and produced by Matt Serletic. The song’s impact date to radio is on February 5, 2007, nearly two months after the album’s release. Hicks admitted that fan reaction contributed to releasing “Just to Feel That Way” as a single instead of “The Runaround” as originally intended.

Here is the lyric:

I feel you letting go
Holding on, caught in between
Could you risk the pain
Take the chance your heart might bleed
Just to feel that way

Can’t keep running in circles
I’m standing right here
Could you rewrite the story
But trade all the tears
Oh it’s not too late to feel that way

Take a walk on the wire
I won’t let you go
We’ll follow the streetlights
Down this jagged road
We’ll break it all open
Finding our way
We might end up broken and wounded
But baby it’s worth it
for even one day
Just to feel that way

Let this moment unravel
and we’ll be alright
The world might be gone tomorrow
But we’re here tonight
Oh it’s not too late just to feel that way
Let’s walk on the wire
I won’t let you go
We’ll follow the streetlights
Down this jagged road
We’ll break it all open
Finding our way
We might end up broken and wounded
But baby it’s worth it
For even one day

Just to fall apart
I don’t care
I’m not going anywhere
Without you being here by my side
Yeah I just don’t feel right
We’ll follow the streetlights

Let’s walk on the wire
I won’t let you go
We’ll follow the streetlights
Down this jagged road
We’ll break it all open
Finding our way
We might end up broken and wounded
But baby it’s worth it
For even one day
For even one day
Just to feel that way
Just to feel that way

Keane – A Bad Dream

“A Bad Dream” is a song performed and composed by English piano rock band Keane and is the fifth track on their second album Under The Iron Sea. It was released on January 22nd, 2007 as the sixth and possibly last single from that album in the United Kingdom and other countries.

Here is the lyric:

Why do I have to fly
Over every town up and down the line?
I’ll die in the clouds above
And you that I defend, I do not love

I wake up, it’s a bad dream
No one on my side
I was fighting
But I just feel too tired
To be fighting
Guess I’m not the fighting kind

Where will I meet my fate?
Baby I’m a man, I was born to hate
And when will I meet my end?
In a better time you could be my friend

I wake up, it’s a bad dream
No one on my side
I was fighting
But I just feel too tired
To be fighting
Guess I’m not the fighting kind
Wouldn’t mind it
If you were by my side
But you’re long gone
Yeah you’re long gone now

Where do we go?
I don’t even know
My strange old face
And I’m thinking about those days
And I’m thinking about those days

I wake up, it’s a bad dream
No one on my side
I was fighting
But I just feel too tired
To be fighting
Guess I’m not the fighting kind
Wouldn’t mind it
If you were by my side
But you’re long gone
Yeah you’re long gone now

Brooke Hogan – For A Moment

“For a Moment” is a single from Brooke Hogan’s album Undiscovered. “Heaven Baby” is also a single from Brooke Hogan’s debut album, Undiscovered. “For a Moment” was originally intended to be the second single, but “Heaven Baby” received radio airplay first.

Here is the lyric:

Lately I’ve been thinking about the ups & downs
We’ve been through together and how we almost lost our ground
We held on long enough to see all the good out weigh the bad
And I’m thankful, so grateful for everything we have
But for a moment I thought I lost everything
For a moment I forgot about our memories
Then I woke up and I realized how much you mean to me
For a moment I thought I lost you and me

My first love, my first kiss I shared both of them with you
From the first time we locked eyes I knew you and I would be the truth
But since then you’ve lied to me and I’ve lied to you
But we made up and I’m thankful so grateful
For everything we have
So beautiful that’s what we are
I’m your sky and your my star
All the trials that we’ve been through
Only made us who we are today

But for a moment I thought I lost everything
For a moment I thought forgot about our memories
Then I woke up and I realized how much you mean to me
For a moment I thought I lost you and me

Your connected to everything and everybody that matters to me
Your the center all my charm without I wouldn’t be
I thought I lost my best friend
My perfect world came to an end
But it was just a dream that felt like reality

But for a moment I thought I lost everything
I thought I lost my baby
I forgot about our memories
Then I opened my eyes
Then I woke up and I realized how much you mean to me
For a moment I thought I lost you and me
I thought I lost you and me

[Chorus]
Promise you, for you I will

Western Single 37-2007

Mario Vazquez – One Shot

“One Shot” is a single by Mario Vazquez. It is the second single lifted from his self-titled Arista debut album Mario Vazquez and set for a January/February release.
Originally, the second single was set to be “Cohiba”, a track featuring Fat Joe & Knox but was then switched to “I Bet” towards the end of 2006. However, J Records has recently switched the second single to be “One Shot”, which is being prepped to be sent for radio adds towards the end of January.

Here is the lyric:

Verse 1:
If I were a builder
Then you’d have a castle
Drive on the highest mountain
And if I were a billionaire
I’d give you every material thing
But unfortunately all I have to give to you
Is an imperfect heart
But it’s a heart that beats only for you

Chorus:
Listen to this girl if you give me one shot
I will love you forever now
No man will do you better now
Love is a risk
But if you give me one shot
I will show you your the only girl
In the world who can
Give me this feeling
Baby, that’s how I feel about you
Your one in a million
I’d rather die than live without you
We can’t miss
So if you give me one shot
We can do it girl {we can do it girl} do it girl

Verse 2:
I’m talkin’ ’bout love in the mornin’
Just like you want it
Anything you need you can call me for it
Now girl I’m only human
I’m full of many faults
I’m guaranteed to fall short (guaranteed to fall)
But you’ll never hear about me cheating
Cuz I never would betray your trust
No matter what
I will look to you and only you for love
I treat your soul like it was mine
What a privelege to me to breathe your air
Doesn’t that say that I care?

Chorus:
Listen to this girl if you give me one shot
I will love you forever now
No man will do you better now
Love is a risk
But if you give me one shot
I will show you your the only girl
In the world who can
Give me this feeling
Baby, that’s how I feel about you

Your one in a million
I’d rather die than live without you
We can’t miss
So if you give me one shot
We can do it girl {do it girl} do it girl

Bridge:
I’m talkin’ all my heart
All my soul
Always stay
Never go
Ohhh yeah
But unfortunately all I have to give to you
Is an imperfect heart
But it’s a heart that beats only for you

Chorus:
Listen to this girl if you give me one shot
I will love you forever now
No man will do you better now
Love is a risk
But if you give me one shot
I will show you your the only girl
In the world who can
Give me this feeling
Baby, that’s how I feel about you
Your one in a million
I’d rather die than live without you
We can’t miss
So if you give me one shot
We can do it girl {do it girl} do it girl

I’m talkin’ ’bout everyday
Everynight
The rest of your days
The rest of your life

Chorus:
Listen to this girl if you give me one shot
I will love you forever now
No man will do you better now
Love is a risk
But if you give me one shot
I will show you your the only girl
In the world who can
Give me this feeling
Baby, that’s how I feel about you
Your one in a million
I’d rather die than live without you
We can’t miss
So if you give me one shot
We can do it girl {do it girl} do it girl

Here is the lyric:

You are fine
You are sweet
But I’m still a bit naive with my heart
When you’re close I don’t breathe
I can’t find the words to speak
I feel sparks
But I don’t wanna be into you
If you are not looking for true love, oh oh
No I don’t wanna start seeing you
If I can’t be your only one
So tell me when it’s not alright
When it’s not ok
Will you try to make me feel better?
Will you say alright? (say alright)
Will you say ok? (Say ok)
Will you stick with me through whatever?
Or run away
(Say that it’s gonna be alright. That it’s gonna be ok)
Say Ok.

When you call I don’t know if I should pick up the phone every time
I’m not like all my friends who keep calling up the boys, I’m so shy
But I don’t wanna be into you
If you don’t treat me the right way
See I can only start seeing you
If you can make my heart feel safe (feel safe)

When it’s not alright

When it’s not ok
Will you try to make me feel better?
Will you say alright? (say alright)
Will you say ok? (Say ok)
Will you stick with me through whatever?
Or run away
(Say that it’s gonna be alright. That it’s gonna be ok
Don’t run away, don’t run away)
Let me know if it’s gonna be you
Boy, you’ve got some things to prove
Let me know that you’ll keep me safe
I don’t want you to run away so
Let me know that you’ll call on time
Let me know that you won’t be shy
Will you wipe my tears away
Will you hold me closer
When it’s not alright
When it’s not ok
Will you try to make me feel better
Will you say alright? (say alright)
Will you say ok? (Say ok)
Will you stick with me through whatever?
Or run away
(Say that it’s gonna be alright. That it’s gonna be ok)
Say OK
(Don’t run away, don’t run away)
(Say that it’s gonna be alright. That it’s gonna be ok, don’t run away)
Will you say OK
(Say that it’s gonna be alright. That it’s gonna be ok)

John Legend – P.D.A. (We Just Don’t Care)

“P.D.A. (We Just Don’t Care)” is the third single from the sophomore album of Grammy Award winning singer and musician John Legend. It is to be released early 2007.

Here is the lyric:

Let’s go to the park
I wanna kiss you underneath the stars
Maybe we’ll go too far
We just don’t care
We just don’t care
We just don’t care

You know I love it when you’re loving me
But sometimes it’s better when it’s publicly
I’m not ashamed, I don’t care who sees
us hugging and kissing, a love exibition, oh

We’ll rendezvous out on the fire escape
I’d like to set off an alarm today
A love emergency don’t make me wait
Just follow, I’ll lead you
I urgently need you

Let’s go to the park
I wanna kiss you underneath the stars
Maybe we’ll go too far
We just don’t care
We just don’t care
We just don’t care

Let’s make love,
let’s go somewhere they might discover us
Let’s get lost in lust
We just don’t care
We just don’t care
We just don’t care

I see you’re closing down the restaurant
Let’s sneak and do it when your boss is gone
Everybody’s leaving, we’ll have some fun
Oh, maybe it’s wrong, but you’re turnin’ me on
Oh, we’ll take a visit to your mama’s house
Creep to the bedroom while your mama’s out
Maybe she’ll hear it when we scream and shout,
but we’ll keep it rockin’ until she comes knockin’

Let’s go to the park
I wanna kiss you underneath the stars
Maybe we’ll go too far
We just don’t care
We just don’t care
We just don’t care

Let’s make love,
let’s go somewhere they might discover us
Let’s get lost in lust
We just don’t care
We just don’t care
We just don’t care

If we keep up all this foolin’ around
We’ll be the talk of the town
I’ll tell the world of our love any time
Let’s open the blinds
‘Cause we really don’t mind

Oh, I don’t care about propriety
Let’s break the rules, ignore society
Maybe our neighbors like to spy, it’s true
So what if they watch when we do what we do

Let’s go to the park
I wanna kiss you underneath the stars
Maybe we’ll go too far
We just don’t care
We just don’t care
We just don’t…

Let’s make love,
let’s go somewhere they might discover us
Let’s get lost in lust…

I Can’t Stop This Feeling I’ve Got is a single by British indie rock band Razorlight. It is the fourth single from their second album Razorlight, following In The Morning, America and Before I Fall To Pieces. It will be released on 19th March 2007.

Here is the lyric:

I can’t stop this feeling I’ve got,
I know who I am and I know what I’m not,
I know where I’ve been and I know what Ive lost
But I cant stop this feeling I’ve got
Wasn’t looking ahead and I heard
Didn’t I see, didn’t I learn
And I don’t know what you mean to me
But I’m starting to think its just a mystery

I can’t stop this feeling I’ve got,
I know who I am and I know what I’m not
I know what I’ve gained and I know what I’ve lost
But I can’t stop this feeling I’ve got
Wasn’t looking ahead and I heard
Didn’t I see, didn’t I learn

I may be right you may disagree
But I’m starting to think its just a mystery
Whatever it is its just a mystery

Ah you don’t really look so easy
You spend a lifetime looking for someone
And then they come and you’re just so uneasy
You get the feeling that if I don’t come
Then there’s one more story be on your way

And I can’t stop this feeling I’ve got,
I know who I am and I know what I’m not
I know where I’ve been and I know what I’ve lost
But I can’t stop this feeling I’ve got

The sky may fall the sea may split
You may say that isn’t it
I may be right you may disagree
Same old story same old me
And I don’t know what you mean to me
But I’m starting to think its just a mystery
Ive got to admit its just a mystery

Jewel – Quest For Love

“Quest For love is a song by Jewel, and the first single from the soundtrack to the part animated, part live action feature film, Arthur and the Invisibles. It is set to hit radio in early 2007.

Here is the lyric:

From one world to another
There’s so much to discover.
Feel so small inside,
But courage has no size.
My heart knows where to go,
And I will follow.

CHORUS:
It’s the little things that make a difference.
It’s the quest for love that bring us life.
It’s the dream of what could be that makes it all worth while.
Like you being by my side,
A love that grows with time.

It’s time to lose my way.
I’m sure I’ll grow afraid.
There’s no wrong I can’t make right,
With you standing by.
It takes a friend like you,
To remind me of what I knew.

CHORUS:
It’s the little things that make a difference.
It’s the quest for love that bring us life.
It’s the dream of what could be that makes it all worth while.
Like you being by my side,
A love that grows with time.

I’ll be strong.
I’ll be brave.
From you’re world and back again,
I’ll keep going till the end.

CHORUS:
It’s the little things that make a difference.
It’s the quest for love that bring us life.
It’s the dream of what could be that makes it all worth while.
Like you being by my side,
A love that grows with time.

Favourite RnB/Hip Hop/Rap

So far I have posted several songs and now I want to know your opinion about the songs that I have posted. Today, let’s talk about our favourite RnB/Hip Hop/Rap Songs. Which songs do you like right now? Here is my favourite RnB/Hip Hop/Rap songs for this week:

1. Pitbull – Fuego

This is my most favourite RnB song right now. Unfortunately, this song has not been one of the singles released from his album “El Mariel”. From his album “El Mariel”, his first single was Bojangles and his second single was Ay Chico (Lengua Afuera). I hope this could be his third single before he release his next album entitled “Armando” this year.

2. Stevie Hoang – Luv U

Stevie Hoang is an RnB singer in London. He has such a lovely voice and the song is also oriental. This song is so romantic. I love this song.

3. Justin Timberlake – What Goes Around…Comes Around

From Justin’s album “Future Sex/Love Sounds”, I think this is the best. (What do you think?)

4. Taio Cruz – I Just Wanna Know

The first time I heard this song, I really love it. He has such a smooth and sweet tone. I hope he will release his own album in the future.

5. Omarion – Ice Box

Omari Ishmael Grandberry, better known as Omarion, is an R&B singer, actor, and the former leader and lead singer of boy band B2K. He is a younger half-brother of Marques Houston. The song “Ice Box” is really great. I really love this song.

Western Single 36-2007

Brian McKnight – A Little Too Late

DL 2

Here is the lyric:

Forever was shorter than what I was thinkin’
Now all we have left is yesterday
I guess I wasn’t what you wanted
Til’ you saw me turn and walk away

But still you had me
Feeling small when I’m 6″4
Better with you, always coming up short
Tired of all the games you played
Funny how now you’ve got so much to say…to say…

[Chorus]
But you never told me that you needed me
The way that you’re telling me now
You never told me that you missed me
Til’ you saw me breaking up
You never told me that you love me
Sorry for what I’m bout to say
But you’re just a little too late

What did i do? What was I thinkin’?
When I gave you my everything, my life
I forgot about me and I stopped listening
Looking back I can finally see the light

You were happiest when i was all stressed out and losing hair
Reaching out for you and you didn’t care
Tired of all the games you play
Funny how now you’ve got so much to say

[Chorus]

I know
Why couldn’t you tell me when i needed to hear it before
Theres not much left to say
This is heartbreak, tell me why the hell would i want to try again
Theres no way that we could still be friends
Cos you never..

[Chorus]

DL 2

Here is the lyric:

Freedom’s just a word today
Freedom’s just a word
When someone takes your word away it’s seldom ever heard
So take a sentence full of things you’re not supposed to say
Carry on, but don’t write it down or you’ll be gone

Love is just a song today
Love is just a song
When someone takes the song away
you seldom sing along
So take those lyrics serious and sing your life away
Carry on, but don’t write ’em down or they’ll be gone

All we ever do is talk
We like to ride but we never walk
We make it so damn easy
We get bored
Why can’t anybody see what’s good for you is good for me
I can’t take your sillyworld
I can’t take your sillyworld no more

Peace is just two fingers now
Peace was just a phase
When someone put it on a shirt
you knew to count the days
So take those fingers tape ’em up and shove ’em up your ass and carry on
but don’t try it now cause peace is gone

All we ever do is talk
We like to ride but we never walk
We make it so damn easy
We get bored
Why can’t anybody see what’s good for you is bad for me
I can’t take your sillyworld
I can’t take your sillyworld no more

We fight our instincts
We go to extremes
We fight our instincts
We go to extremes

We fought a lot [x13]

Matt Wertz – 519

Matt Wertz is a singer/songwriter from Liberty, Missouri. 519 is one of the songs taken from his third album entitled “Everything In Between”.

Here is the lyric:

I’d be lying through my teeth
I i told you that I’m ok
July came I thought I had it all together
Till you said I need some space
Truth be told its so hard to wait

One eye on the clock
And one on the phone
It’s 5:19 I’m feeling alone
If I could talk to you
I’d want you to know,
I’m holding loose
I ain’t letting go

We both know that I could think myself dizzy
Right now I’m spinning around
You just said baby dont worry
But I just miss you right now
I said, I miss your right now

One eye on the clock
And one on the phone
It’s 5:19 I’m feeling alone
If I could talk to you
I’d want you to know,
I’m holding loose but ain’t letting go

Baby take all the time you need
Cause I just want you to know
I’ll be here, waiting…

With one eye on the clock
And one on the phone
It’s 5:19 I’m feeling alone
If I could talk to you
I’d want you to know,
I’m holding loose but aint letting go

One eye on the clock
And one on the phone
It’s 5:19 I’m feeling alone
And if I could talk to you
I’d want you to know,
I’m holding loose but aint letting go

Aint letting go…

Seal – A Fathers Way

Seal Samuel (born February 19, 1963 in London, England) is a three-time Grammy Award-winning Afro-European soul vocalist and songwriter. He is professionally known only by his first name, Seal. “A Father’s Way” earned Seal a Golden Globe nomination. He wrote this song for the film “The Pursuit of Happyness”. The music was made by Seal and Christopher Bruce. In this song, his lyrics focus on a father’s need to “shield” his children from negative influences. He says the song recalls less of his own parenting experiences and reflects more about his relationship with his own father, who Seal says was abusive and discouraged him from pursuing a musical career.

Here is the lyric:

I build a fence around you in a father’s way
I try to feel what it is you’ll be going through
Co’s I’ve played many ways
When you grow, how much will it take to slow you down…
Half the way?

Do my best to feed you and I do what’s right
I try to find the words that I’ll say to you
When you come home tonight
And if so, how hard will we cry before our sound
Fades away?

One day when the fence is not so high
The road you took
How far will you go?
How high will you climb?
And when all in life’s unfair
Are you strong enough to find another way, find another way
find another way?

A Father’s way

I build a fence around you in a father’s way
Just like the one who used to preach to me
Now I’ve become that way
But you know
How soft now the hand that used to strike
To the heart

One day when the fence is not so high
The road you took
How far will you go?
How high will you climb?
And when all in life’s unfair
Are you strong enough to find another way, find another way
find another way?

There’s no way
You will stay
There’s no way
I know you
There’s no way
You will stay
There’s no way
I know you.
